Those who speak most of health, have it. Those who speak most of sickness, have it.
Many leaders and teachers in the Law of Attraction world have uttered variations on this quote from Jerry and Esther Hicks. And it ticks me off. (I feel like using words stronger than ticks.)
I think it’s a good thing that the Law of Attraction seems to have ushered in a new sense of individual responsibility. But as with all trends in pop psychology and pop spirituality, it has a downside. So … I was debilitated for years because I was thinking the wrong thoughts? Really?!
I’d like to answer once and for all, the people who told me that I just needed to think positively or that I was the last person they ever thought would get so seriously sick (presumably because I’m such a positive person who takes good care of herself).
The universe is more complex than man’s ability to think. Nobody really knows why, after having smoked all their lives, subject X got lung cancer but subject Y stayed strong as an ox. I get that the probability of protecting myself from lung cancer is higher because I don’t smoke but nobody understands the true cause of illness. Who knows, maybe I have actually fared very well given the CFS triggers I’ve experienced in my life.
Or maybe, I should just say, tick off!
