The answer was shockingly simple: Weight Recorder.
I didn’t own scales but I was looking for an objective way of tracking the bloating in my system. Bloating is caused by my immune system not being able to function properly and this is intimately related to my healing.
You may know that another name for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome is Chronic Fatigue and Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS). So if I buy a set of scales, weigh myself each morning and keep track of it, I am actually tracking my healing in an objective way!
This process has revealed a number of surprising things. For example, if I sleep at least 5-6 hours, my weight (or bloating) usually tracks downwards the very next morning. I’ve also noticed that if I manage my day and my stress in certain ways, I get more sleep which then keeps my healing in the right direction.
Now that I have this direct and quantifiable way of measuring my recovery, I find that I’m more motivated to take the little, seemingly inconsequential, baby steps each day which help my immune system heal.
