Realitynibs.com is dedicated to full recovery from Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia.
Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (also known as Myalgic Encephalomyelitis or M.E.) and Fibromyalgia Syndrome, are sister illnesses. They appear to be on either end of a spectrum, as most people who have one condition also have the other. Every now and then articles pop up saying that the cause of CFS/FMS is unknown and that there is no cure. This blog intends to demonstrate otherwise. If a severe case like mine can become functional, then it can also get completely better. There are some former CFS/FMS patients who’ve forgotten what it was like and I will forget too. But not before I write down how I got there.
The mission of this project is to offer easily digested, illustrative stories from my own journey of recovery, with the intention of sharing with other patients, our caregivers and our communities. Within a short time of finding myself mysteriously incapacitated, I had taught myself more about how to recover than the doctors I initially consulted knew. I’ve gone from sleeping three hours to sleeping seven hours; from being trapped in bed most days to getting up every morning; the list of improvements is too long to include here. Even as I pursue the final leg of what I now recognize as a universal, spiritual healing journey, I feel compelled to share this experience despite my nervousness about losing some privacy!
Over the past decade, CFS and FMS have exploded by 200 to 1000 percent, as documented in more than eight separate studies in countries throughout Europe and Africa. In the United States, close to 2.5 million people suffer from CFS. Worldwide, the prevalence of FMS has gone up by 200 to 400 percent in the past decade, and is now found in 4 to 8 percent of the population. In the United States, this means it affects 12 to 24 million people. The Centers for Disease Control, the National Institute of Health, and the FDA all now recognize that CFS and FMS are bona fide and devastating illnesses. — Jacob Teitelbaum, M.D. March, 2010
As a storytelling, Chronic Fatigue blog, Realitynibs.com uniquely combines Dr. Robert O. Young’s pH Miracle protocol, Dr. Jacob Teitelbaum’s SHINE protocol for CFS/FMS treatment with the methodology of the Optimum Health Clinic (UK). Regression therapy, Brain Wave Optimization and Classical Acupuncture have also been key to my improvement, together with various life management strategies.
I believe that what I’ve learned contributes not just to recovering from Chronic Fatigue & Fibromyalgia, but also to the general understanding of maintaining one’s health, vitality and productivity. With the pace of life and information in the twenty first century, this takes more than just diet and exercise. It also takes nourishing our emotional, spiritual and intellectual selves.
Storytelling is powerful. It helps us understand, make choices and can inspire us. —Alisa Miller, President & CEO, Public Radio International

A need to tell and hear stories is essential to the species Homo Sapiens–second in necessity apparently after nourishment and before love and shelter. Millions survive without love or home, almost none in silence; the opposite of silence leads quickly to narrative, and the sound of story is the dominant sound of our lives. —Reynolds Price, A Palpable God
